Venue Spotlight: Wasing Park

Wedding Flowers at Wasing Park

Wedding Flowers for Wasing Park

Nestled away in the quiet village of Aldermaston, Berkshire and only 15 minutes from our floral HQ, lives the beautiful Wasing Estate. This exquisite estate has been in the hands of the same family for seven generations, dating back to 1759! The estate holds host to not only superb weddings, but also, various events and wellness experiences throughout the year. Wasing will forever be a very special wedding venue to us for many reasons, from the superbly maintained grounds, to the gorgeous inside spaces which are always a pleasure to flower. Over the years we have created many special floral creations at Wasing and often provide Wedding Flowers for Wasing Park. Dressing this beautiful venue over the years means we have some areas that we especially love to flower and we thought we’d share them with you.

Victorian Summerhouse

What could be more special than exchanging your vows amongst nature with the hand painted, Victorian Summerhouse as your backdrop. There are many ways to add to the already beautiful setting with floral arrangements, some of our favourites include Chair Ties with ribbon trails and fresh Rose Petals to line the aisle, Pedestal Arrangements on plinths to frame you at the top of the aisle and a showstopping Freestanding Arch to frame the start of the aisle.

Garden Room

The beautiful Wasing Garden Room, flooded with the most perfect natural daylight and neutral décor, a brilliant blank canvas which can be dressed in many ways depending on your style and vision.

Firstly, the main entrance, this space is usually dressed with our Pedestal Arrangement on a plinth, either just one creating an asymmetrical design of one on each side to frame the entrance.

To line the aisle our Candles are a great option for the added warm light (especially in the colder months) ranging from Hurricane Lanterns, Floating Candles, Pillar Candles and Silver Storm Lanterns, depending on your vision.

These work well in accompaniment with Chair Ties featuring the long satin ribbon trails, usually placed alternating with the candles to draw the eye down the aisle.

We love to dress the top of the aisle with a statement piece as this is going to be the backdrop for the most important part of your whole day. Pedestal Arrangements on Plinths work beautifully to frame the window, as well as the wide array of arches including Moon Arch,  Broken Arch, Freestanding Arch and Birch Arch.

Parish Church

The picturesque Parish Church within the Wasing Estate is a great option for more traditional couples, holding host to beautiful stained-glass windows, a 14th century cast iron bell and wooden detailing. There are a few areas within the church we like to focus on flowering, starting with the entrance.

This area is quite important to consider as it usually creates the backdrop for your confetti shot, it can be dressed in many ways depending on your style and preference. We love adding Tall Flower Meadows to the base of the entrance arch leaving the beautiful church stonework exposed, in addition our Pedestal Arrangements on Plinths frame the entrance way beautifully.

To line the aisle within the church, Pew Ends work a treat, usually placed on every other pew lining the aisle, attached with trails of satin ribbon. Also, after your Ceremony we can pop them into vases to repurpose them and use them to decorate areas within your Wedding Reception. We love to repurpose as much as we can to make the most out of each of the designs throughout the day.

To frame you at the top of the aisle within the church we love to create Pedestal Arrangements, which can also then be used to decorate your Reception space. The Parish Church also holds host to the most beautiful stained glass windows which we love to dress. Whether it’s a Sweetie Vase full or flowers or floral wreaths, it’s a lovely little touch to a beautiful space.

Castle Barn

For relaxed, rustic feasts with your friends and family and to dance the night away, there is no where quite like the Castle Barn. A beautiful blank canvas of red brick walls featuring arrow slits (which we love to add Votives to for additional warmth), the space is yours to personalise depending on your style and overall vision.

The reception is a great time to consider repurposing; depending on what you have used for your ceremony, we are usually able to make use of it within your reception, keeping costs down and making sure to make the most out of each design.

If you’re looking to add the extra ‘Wow factor’ and create something your guests will talk about long after your wedding day, our Hanging Installation is just that. Created using just mixed foliage or a combination of flower and foliage within your scheme, our suspended flower cloud frames your top table beautifully and looks great from all angles within the room.

When it comes to dressing the tables within the Castle Barn there are many different options. We usually recommend thinking about whether you would like tall arrangements (usually on stands or tall vases) or low arrangements (usually accompanied by candles). Then you can explore the different designs within those categories.
