Wedding Flowers at Notley Abbey
Located in the lush, green county of Buckinghamshire, Notley Abbey is special for many reasons, with history dating back to the 13th century, and many famous guests residing in their bedrooms including Marolyn Monroe and Henry VIII! Throughout the venue there are various spaces for your ceremony and wedding reception (indoors and outdoors). We are lucky enough to be Recommended Suppliers of Wedding Flowers for Notley Abbey and we thought we’d show you a few of our favourite areas to dress with our floral creations…
The Abbot’s Hall
Flooded with natural sunlight and an original fireplace, The Abbot’s Hall is a beautiful space for your ceremony or daytime drinks.
This is one of our favourite spaces to dress at Notley Abbey, not only because of its beautiful features, but the light in here varies across the year, providing a different feel and different opportunities depending on the season the wedding is held in.
When dressing this space we think it is important to compliment the rooms natural features, by dressing the windows with urns filled with spilling foliage and flower placed on plinths for the added height and lining the aisle with candles and chair ties.
In the dark winter months this room looks magical under the glow of candlelight, so we love lining the aisle and dressing the top of the aisle with candles, framing the couple.
The Monk’s Refectory
Featuring the wall dating back to the 13th century, the Monks Refectory is a very special space for your ceremony, wedding reception and evening celebrations.
For ceremonies we love the to dress the space with a statement archway or a collection of statement vases on pedestals, with the addition of flower clouds suspended from the ceiling adding drama and romance.
When dressing the wedding reception tables there’s a lot of flexibility, it’s a beautiful blank canvas for you to create your own vision for the day. For a simplistic, romantic look we love to use various height pillar candles in cylinder vases. However, the space works beautifully dressed with various height bud vases, with tapered candles and floating candles. The top table can be framed very effectively with your ceremony statement flowers, such as pedestals arrangements or freestanding arch.
The Walled Garden
Nestled away at the rear of the venue is the glorious Walled Garden, its stretching green lawn lined with beautiful herbaceous plants is the perfect backdrop for your country garden ceremony.
We love to decorate this space with aisle petals, freestanding archways to frame you at the top of your aisle and chair garlands along the back row of chairs. Flower meadows lining the aisle add to the country garden aesthetic and the top of the aisle can be decorated simply with pedestal arrangements on plinths. In the past we have had the pleasure of adorning flowers on your fury companions for their big moment of bearing the ring!
Cloister Gardens
After venturing down the tree lined driveway you will be greeted by the beautiful Cloister Gardens, a beautiful backdrop for your welcome drinks and confetti toss.
The entrance way within the Cloister Gardens always looks extra special when dressed with our flower archways.
Whether it is a half arch (just over the top of the door), or a full arch reaching the ground, we think this is a lovely addition to an already beautiful space
When it comes to dressing the tables within the Castle Barn there are many different options. We usually recommend thinking about whether you would like tall arrangements (usually on stands or tall vases) or low arrangements (usually accompanied by candles). Then you can explore the different designs within those categories.
